Dawn Centre for Autism

Dawn Centre for Autism was founded in 2018 by Marilet Van Rooyen to provide specialised education for autistic children. Its mission is to better equip neurodiverse children to thrive through its various beneficiaries, organisations, and programmes. The centre supports children from ages 2 until they are ready for more formalised schooling.

Our Core Team

  • Marilet Van Rooyen

    Founder

    Marilet is an early childhood development and neurodiversity educator and activist. She comes from a background in psychology and is passionate about encouraging acceptance around neurodiversity and providing functional intervention for young learners on the autism spectrum.

  • Eloise Grobbelaar

    Foundation Director

    Eloise is a mum and teacher with a Post-Graduate Certificate in Autism and over twenty years of experience. She believes in empowering professionals, parents, and children to go beyond behaviour management and move instead towards raising happy, confident, and resilient children.

  • Mariet Venter

    Foundation Director

    Mariet is an Occupational Therapist who enjoys working with children up to the age of twelve. She works with parents, teachers, and communities to share her holistic approach to managing learning difficulties. Mariet is Ayres Sensory Integration® and DIRFloortime® certified.
